There are more than 55 crore Jan Dhan bank accounts in the country. Jan Dhan accounts have become the easiest way for common people to connect with banking services. Crores of people have started saving and taking advantage of government schemes with the help of these accounts. But some formalities have to be completed to keep the account running and get the benefits of the facilities. Re-KYC is one step in this process.
In which customers have to submit their important documents again. If this work is not done on time, the facilities related to the account may be affected. In such a situation, it is important that you know which documents should be kept ready so that you do not have to face any problem and the account always remains active.
Jan Dhan accounts will be re-KYC
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a new information on the occasion of completion of 10 years of Jan Dhan Yojana. From July 1 to September 30, 2025, camps are being organized for KYC of all Jan Dhan account holders at the Panchayat level. If the address has to be changed in any account and any information has to be changed. So it can be done through these camps by submitting the relevant documents.
Apart from this, if someone has to update personal information, then that too can be updated so that no one faces any problem in keeping the account active in future. This is the specialty of the accounts opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. In all these, you do not have to maintain monthly average balance, all these accounts are zero balance accounts.
These documents will be needed
You will need some documents to get re-KYC done. The most important of which is the Aadhar card, after this you must also have documents like voter card or ration card or driving license or passport so that your identity as well as your address can be verified. If you have shifted from one place to another or there is a change in any information, then your information will also be updated in the camp. Let us tell you that till 30 September 2025, these camps will be organized by RBI in different panchayats.
