Importance of Hartalika Teej
Hartalika Teej, also known as Gauri Tritiya, is associated with the mythological story of the marriage of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. On this day, married women observe a fast for their unbroken good fortune and long life of their husbands, and unmarried girls observe a fast for the wish of getting a suitable groom. The fast is very difficult because it involves fasting without food and water throughout the day; that is, worship is done with full devotion without food and water.
Hartalika Teej festival on 26 August
Hartalika Teej festival will be celebrated on Tuesday, 26 August. According to the Panchang, the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month will start from 11:39 am on 25 August and will last till 12:39 pm on 26 August. Udayatithi, that is, the Tithi which is in effect at the time of sunrise, fasting on that day is valid in the scriptures, so the fast will be observed on 26 August. The process of ending the fast will take place on 27 August after sunrise on Chaturthi Tithi.
4 Shubh Yog on Hartalika Teej
According to Jyotish Shastra, this time due to coincidences, this Teej fast will not only be important spiritually, but is also considered to be very fruitful in terms of astrology. It is believed that when the fast is done in such yogas, its effect and virtue increase manifold. Now talking about these four auspicious yogas, the first yoga is Sarvarth Siddhi Yog, which is considered to make every work successful. This yoga removes the obstacles in life and gives the desired results.
The second is Shobhan Yoga, which is considered ideal for all types of auspicious works. This yoga is best for religious works like fasting, worship, marriage, and housewarming. The third is Gajkesari Yoga, which is considered to be very influential in astrology. This yoga is formed by the conjunction of the Moon and the Guru and increases intelligence, prestige, good fortune, and respect. The fourth and most influential yoga is Panchmahapurusha Yoga, which is formed by the planets being in a special place. This yoga gives a high position, longevity, and special results to the seeker.

Hartalika Teej Puja Vidhi
On the day of Teej, women wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and take a vow to fast. Then a Shiv-Parvati idol made of clay, silver, or brass is installed at a sacred place in the house. After this, Lord Ganesha is worshipped with the Panchopchar or Shodashopachar method. Bel leaves, incense, lamps, flowers, sweets, fruits, and seasonal fruits are offered in the worship. After the worship, listening to the Hartalika Vrat Katha is considered mandatory. Chandra Darshan is prohibited on this day. If one inadvertently sees the moon, then listening to the story of Swamantak Mani is said to be necessary. Women stay awake all night, bhajans and kirtans are performed.
