This eclipse will be visible in many countries, such as Asia, Australia, North America, and South America. Since this eclipse will be visible in India, its Sutak period will also be valid here. Sutak will start from 9:39 am and will last till 6:46 pm.

Second Lunar Eclipse – 28 August 2026
The second lunar eclipse of the year will take place on Friday, 28 August 2026. It will be a total lunar eclipse, but it will not be visible in India. Therefore, its Sutak will also not be valid here. This eclipse will be visible mainly in North and South America, Europe, and some parts of Africa.

Importance of Lunar Eclipse and Sutak

A lunar eclipse has special religious significance in Hindu tradition. It is believed that when the moon is eclipsed, the work done during that time has a different effect. This is the reason why many activities are stopped during the Sutak period.

1. Sutak is valid 9 hours before the eclipse begins.

3. The doors of temples are also closed during the Sutak period, and worship begins only after the eclipse ends.

4. However, if the eclipse is not visible at a place, then Sutak is not valid there.
