Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 32-year-old man allegedly strangled his live-in partner to death under the influence of alcohol in Bhopal’s Gayatri Nagar area. The incident occurred on June 27 at a rented accommodation located at House No. 34, Kararia Farm, under the jurisdiction of Bajaria police station.
The accused, identified as Sachin Rajput (32), reportedly killed Ritika Sen (29) following a heated argument. According to Additional DCP (Zone-1) Rashmi Agrawal Dubey, Sachin allegedly wrapped Ritika’s body in a bedsheet and fled the scene. Police believe he was intoxicated at the time of the murder.
The next day, after regaining sobriety, Sachin confided in a friend, who immediately informed the police. Acting swiftly, authorities arrested the accused and launched a detailed investigation.

They had been residing in the rented house for about 10 months.
Sachin was arrested shortly after the crime, and police officials confirmed that significant forensic evidence has been recovered from the scene. While the exact motive is still under investigation, sources stated that the couple frequently argued.
A post-mortem has been conducted, and authorities are awaiting the final autopsy report to confirm the precise cause and time of death. Sachin will be presented in court after further interrogation.
The police have launched a detailed investigation and are working to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the murder.
