Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather will reportedly clash over eight two-minute rounds.
Mayweather and Tyson have struck a deal to compete in an exhibition match next year. Tyson - a former undisputed heavyweight champion - was swift to announce the news on Instagram. "Coming soon," the boxing legend posted alongside a split photograph of both fighters. The official date and location remain undisclosed as of yet, reports All Out Fighting.
In a statement from CSI/Fight Sports, Tyson said: "This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets. I still can't believe Floyd wants to really do this. It's going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it's signed and it's happening."

The legendary boxer, Floyd Mayweather, has hit back at his critics in a video posted on his official Instagram account. Filmed aboard his private jet, the 48 year old flaunted his wealth and responded to his detractors: "S***. I am pretty sure I would be upset too if I was someone else. i would be mad at Mayweather too. How the f*** for 29/30 years, you keep getting money like this? I would be made too, s***. I would be hating on Mayweather too. Continue to hate. You know, people only talk about winners and I am a winner. Continue to talk. Keep the bag fresh. Put it in the bag. Call me the bread man."
In the same statement, Mayweather added: "I've been doing this for 30 years and there hasn't been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy. You already know that if I am going to do something, it's going to be big and it's going to be legendary. I'm the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want."
Tyson hung up his professional boxing gloves in 2005, only to return for an eight-round exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr in 2020. After a four-year break, he made a sensational comeback against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. Despite going the distance with Paul, 'Iron' suffered a points defeat.
Mayweather bid farewell to professional boxing in 2017 after triumphing over former dual-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor. However, he has participated in several exhibition matches since then. The American boxing icon has squared off against the likes of Logan Paul, Deji and most recently John Gotti III.
