The Caribbean Premier League 2025 witnessed a high-voltage clash as St Lucia Kings crushed St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by seven wickets. The star of the match was New Zealand’s Tim Seifert, who tore apart the Pakistani pace duo of Naseem Shah and Abbas Afridi with fearless stroke play. His explosive innings ensured the Kings chased down the target with ease, overshadowing Mohammad Rizwan’s well-crafted half-century for St Kitts.
Batting first in the 15th match of the season, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots posted 177 runs for three wickets in 20 overs. Mohammad Rizwan anchored the innings with an unbeaten 60 off 41 balls, laced with three boundaries and four towering sixes. This marked his first fifty of the tournament. Rizwan shared a crucial 71-run stand with Kyle Mayers (27), while Andre Fletcher (37) and captain Jason Holder (21*) chipped in to boost the total. For the Kings, Tabraiz Shamsi impressed with figures of 2 for 17 in four overs.
In reply, St Lucia Kings overhauled the target in just 17 overs, thanks to Seifert’s fireworks. The Kiwi opener smashed 68 off 45 balls, including six fours and four sixes, and stitched two vital partnerships—85 runs with Johnson Charles (47) and 60 with youngster Akeem Auguste (29). Seifert initially played cautiously but shifted gears after Charles’ dismissal, punishing Abbas Afridi and Naseem Shah with boundaries at will. His clean hitting left the opposition bowlers helpless and sealed a commanding win for the Kings.
With this victory, St Lucia Kings climbed to the top of the CPL 2025 points table with three wins, one loss, and two no-results, collecting eight points in total. Meanwhile, St Kitts continue to struggle, managing just two wins in seven matches and sitting fifth with only four points.
