Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor, often in the spotlight for his films and personal life, once again grabbed headlines for a film that failed to meet expectations at the box office. Ranbir, who was previously linked to actress Katrina Kaif before marrying Alia Bhatt, shared the screen with Katrina in several films—even after their separation. However, one of their joint ventures turned out to be a major flop.

The film in question is Jagga Jasoos, directed by Anurag Basu and released on July 14, 2017. In this film, Ranbir played the titular character Jagga, while Katrina played Shruti. Despite a star cast including Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sayani Gupta, and others, the film did not resonate with the audience as anticipated.

Jagga Jasoos was made with a hefty budget of around Rs 125-130 crore. However, it failed to recover even half of this investment, earning only Rs 54 crore domestically. Its worldwide collection stood at about Rs 84 crore, marking it as a mega flop in the careers of both actors.

Aside from Jagga Jasoos, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have appeared together in other movies like Rajneeti and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, which were commercially successful. Yet, Jagga Jasoos remains the prominent flop among their collaborations, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the film business despite star power.
