are braced for interest in talented winger Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town this summer. Hutchinson played a key role in the Tractor Boys' promotion to the in a successful loan spell at Portman Road this summer.

Ipswich chief executive Mark Ashton has revealed that the newly-promoted side would be interested in retaining the 20-year-old for their first season in the Premier League for 22 years. Hutchinson, who scored 10 goals and provided five assists in the Championship, has already admitted that he would be open to remaining at Ipswich.

"Listen, you never know. It's really early at the moment," Ashton told the East Anglian Daily Times.

"What Kieran's done with Omari from day one, how he's developed him, is incredible. He's gone from a bit-part player, to a mainstay in the team, to someone who has really impacted the team.

"We'd love to have him here for sure, but that would mean discussions with Chelsea, with his agent, with him, with his family etc. All of that will take a little bit of time.

"You get promoted and everyone talks emotionally, 'I want to be here!', but you've got to let the dust settle and then calmly speak to the right people. It's one we'll step through and see where we go.

"But he's been an exceptional talent for us, he's come to the forefront incredibly well in recent weeks. We'll sit down with Kieran and we'll have a good look at what we're going to do."

Hutchinson, who joined Chelsea from Arsenal in 2022, will return to Stamford Bridge in the summer. According to The Athletic, the player was summoned to Chelsea's Cobham training ground for talks with Mauricio Pochettino this week.

The Chelsea boss reportedly wants to cast his eye over Hutchinson, who will be taking part in training now that his Ipswich campaign has finished. Asked about returning to Ipswich next season, Hutchinson said: "I hope so. I don't know, we will see what the manager is saying and my agent.

"Right now, I am going to celebrate - I do not know what to do."

Chelsea may be tempted into a permanent sale of Hutchinson during the summer, potentially if a suitable bid is made. While he was signed from Arsenal only two years ago, his departure would likely generate a sizeable profit.

The Stamford Bridge hierarchy have sold several young players over the last two years, with the profit helping to strike off the huge spending since BlueCo's purchase of the club.
