A section of the M1 was closed following a horror crash that sparked huge delays and long lines of traffic for scores of drivers travelling during the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The multi-vehicle collision on one of the UK's busiest motorways closed the southbound carriageway on Sunday, August 24, between J13 (near Bedford) and J12 (Flitwick). Several of the emergency services - Bedfordshire Police, Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, East of England Ambulance Service and East Anglian Air Ambulance - rushed to the scene of the horror collision.
