has kept his cards close to his chest over Matheus Cunha's future. Manchester United are expected to complete a £62.5million transfer for the Wolves winger over the coming days.
The Brazil international could become United's first signing of what is likely to be a busy summer transfer window. Major surgery will take place at Old Trafford, with several incoming stars set to replace many of the club's under-performing players. However, Amorim was unable to provide an update on the deal for Cunha after against ASEAN All-Stars.
"You have to wait for that. It won't confirm anything," Amorim said. "I have no news. We will see. There will be some changes."
United have reportedly met Cunha's release clause, following to structure the fee over several years. Wolves are said to have wanted the entire sum paid by the end of the 2026-27 campaign.
The 26-year-old forward has been one of the better performers in the bottom half of the Premier League, where United finished 15th. Wolves, who were 16th, were kept away from the relegation largely thanks to Cunha's form. He scored 15 goals in 33 top-flight appearances, making a further six assists.
It is expected that Cunha will play on the left of United's front three, as one of the No. 10's behind the centre-forward. Mason Mount has occupied that position in recent weeks, while the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo have also played in the role.
Amorim was speaking after United were humiliated in a post-season friendly with ASEAN All-Stars, a team made up of international players from southeast Asian nations. A 1-0 defeat was further evidence that major work must be undertaken ahead of next seasons.
United were booed by fans after the match, which is part of their tour of Asia. Amorim said: "I feel always guilty of the performance of the team since I am here in the first game. The boos from the fans, maybe it is something we need because every game that we lost in the Premier League they were always there. Let's see for next season.
"I liked the young kids. They tried, that's enough for me."
