Former MasterChef champion Shelina Permalloo has shared her ultimate pasta sauce recipe, perfect for all the family to enjoy. As she welcomed the return of school, the chef revealed she has been on the hunt for recipes that "everyone will be happy with".
Pasta is a staple for comfort food, so Shelina shared how she levels up a simple dish with just six ingredients. The recipe is so simple she hardly calls it a recipe. Shelina wrote in the caption: "This is barely cooking but tastes delicious and it's so versatile.
"Using a really good quality tomato paste is what will transform this sauce and you all know how much I love my Turkish one. "I pair it with spaghetti and serve it with veggies, salad, or even roast chicken my daughter's favourite!"
You only need a handful of ingredients for the recipe, but Shelina's most important ingredient is a good quality tomato paste. She said: "This red pasta is a life saver, every child I know will eat it.
"It's so easy, just make sure you have really good quality tomato paste. I'm using my Turkish tomato paste."
Shelina's daughter recommended pairing it with some chicken and salad. Shelina continued: "This is barrel a recipe, because all you is add in your cooked spaghetti - and that is it."

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 heaped tbsp Turkish tomato paste
- 1 tsp garlic puree
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp sugar
- 1 cup of water
Method
Heat the oil in a pan, before adding the tomato paste. Then add the garlic puree and water.
Boil the mixture down until it's cooked through. Then add the salt and sugar.
Add in your cooked pasta until it's evenly coated in the sauce. Or leave for later and store in an airtight bag or container.
