Prince Harry is "desperate" to reconcile with the Royal Family but is faced with a big problem which could ruin his chances, a royal expert has claimed. The Duke of Sussex has been estranged from his royal relatives ever since he quit the Firm in 2020 and made various claims against them.
Recently, the Duke expressed his wish to reconcile with the royals while speaking to the BBC, saying that he doesn't know how long his father, the King - who was diagnosed with cancer - still has. This week, it emerged that the first steps to a possible future reconciliation between the two camps had been taken after Sussex and royal aides were snapped having a secret meeting in London last week. Harry's chief communications officer Meredith Maines and Maguire, who runs the Sussexes' PR team in the UK, were snapped on a balcony close to Clarence House in London, having a chat with Tobyn Andreae, the King's communications secretary.
However, the fact that details of the meeting were linked to the press quickly enough so it could be photographed sparked concerns among royal watchers and fans alike.
Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich told Fox News: "My instincts say that Harry is desperate. And King Charles loves his son and wants to have a restored relationship.
"However, this tentative step in any fragile peace process was marred by the leak of the meeting's details and photos.
"How on Earth was the media there? Both sides [have] expressed frustration regarding how such a leak jeopardises the process, with now suspicions and distrust being resurrected."
Ms Fordwich added: "Prince William is likely viewing this leak as being true to form for the Sussexes.
"It further reinforces his stance that any reconciliation or indeed dialogue with the Sussexes will become public."
The Sussexes have denied leaking details of the London meeting, while Buckingham Palace has declined to comment.
