Giant plumes of smoke have been spotted billowing for miles above hills in Staffordshire.
Those watching wildfires in the area took to social media to share images of the incident.
Around 10 fire engines have rushed to the scene and remain at the blaze.
One said: "Huge fire near clearly visible from top of Buddulph Moor. The cloud is something else."
Witnesses say the fire broke out near Errwood reservoir in the Upper Goyt Valley late morning.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service (DFRS) said crews were called to the blaze near the Errwood Reservoir in the Goyt Valley at 11:42 today, Wednesday.
Ten fire engines from Derbyshire and Cheshire are at the scene, the fire service added.
