Sony is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation in the UK and Europe.
The original PlayStation made its UK debut on September 29, 1995. The console put Sony on the map as a major player in the video game industry, selling tens of millions of units during its lifespan.
To celebrate the special milestone, Sony has re-released its range of 30th Anniversary PlayStation hardware and accessories.
Indeed, over on the PlayStation Direct, Sony is selling the PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary console for £469.99.
The 30th Anniversary PlayStation 5 Digital Edition includes a themed console with a 1TB SSD, as well as a limited edition DualSense controller and a Console Cover if you ever decide to purchase a separate disc drive.
It also contains a handful of bonus items, including PlayStation Shape cable ties and a PlayStation paperclip.
The PS5 30th Anniversary range features "throwback design elements" and a legacy colour scheme. The design is said to pay homage to the original PlayStation console.
Fans can also purchase an Anniversary DualSense controller for £69.99, as well as an Anniversary PlayStation Portal for £209.99.
In addition to re-releasing its range of 30th Anniversary hardware and accessories, Sony also announced some brand new merchandise for fans.
First up is the PlayStation: The First 30 Years coffee table book, which contains large format photographs of the original PlayStation.
"Players will get a glimpse into never-before-seen prototypes, concept sketches, and design models that shaped hardware development at Sony Interactive Entertainment," Sony explains.
"From daring early designs to the iconic consoles and controllers that defined gaming culture for millions, PlayStation: The First 30 Years is a 400 page visual journey through PlayStation history that gives fans a rare glimpse into the brand's evolution through the generations."
Sony has also teamed up with Reebok to release a new range of PlayStation-inspired trainers.
Available from October, the PlayStation x Reebok collection features three different designs for three separate regions. There's the InstaPump Fury 94 for Japan, Pump Omni Zone II for the US and the Workout Plus for fans in the UK.
