Samsung can't beat Amazon's £150 price cut on the Galaxy S24

Samsung fans considering upgrading their smartphone may want to shop around as the tech giant can't beat Amazon's latest price drop. Amazon has slashed £150 off the Samsung Galaxy S24 128GB, reducing it from £699 to £549.

The deal is for the Marble Grey and Amber Yellow models, with prices varying for the Onyx Black and Cobalt Violet editions. Buying the same model direct from Samsung would cost £599, the same price offered at Argos.

The Galaxy S24 launched in January 24, so it's not the latest model but offers a more affordable option to the newer Galaxy S25 and its £959 price tag. The S24 boasts a 6.2" FHD+ display, 50MP wide-angle camera and is packed with Galaxy AI features such as live translation and circle to search.

Its powerful battery allows users to listen to music for up to 78 hours, while its Armour Aluminium body is IP68 dust and water resistant. But even with the latest Amazon deal, £549 is still a decent amount of money, so those preferring to spread the cost may want to consider iD Mobile's £24.99 per month plan at Mobiles.co.uk.

Along with a £9 upfront cost, this comes with 100GB of data and the opportunity to claim a free Galaxy Watch7 BT. Sky Mobile customers can also claim the free device on its £24 contract, but keep in mind this has to be paired with a data plan from £0 for 100MB or £20 for unlimited.

This makes Mobiles.co.uk the more cost-effective monthly option, even after the inflation-linked price rise each year. The iD Mobile plan has already been confirmed as increasing to £26.49 from April 2026 and £27.99 from April 2027, bringing the total ownership cost to £635.76.

This is £86.76 more than Amazon's current asking price. The Galaxy S24 currently boasts a 4.4-star rating on Amazon, with 88% of customers awarding it four or five stars.

One satisfied shopper said: "Great phone at great price. Battery life is brilliant, recharge time is also great. The camera and everything about this phone is absolutely brilliant."

Another said: "Quite impressive. Battery life is surprising. It is very smooth, stabilisation on videos is so much better, and pictures feel more natural. I am a light user and it is still early days, the phone is learning my usage but the battery life stands out for me."

Despite a four-star review, this buyer was disappointed in the S24's battery life, saying: "Great phone but needs charging a lot."

While another five-star review said: "Moved up from S22+ to this beauty. The S24 is a great phone, slim, powerful, and the migration took 15 minutes for all apps and files from my old phone. Performance is super fast. The price is really good also."
