Virgin Media has launched a pretty rare deal on its broadband bundles, cutting its prices to its 'lowest ever' for a limited time. The broadband and TV provider has cut the price of its M500 and Gig1 broadband packages to £27.99 a month and £29.99 a month respectively.

It's one of the cheapest prices it has been for a while, taking on the likes ofSky and other broadband providers. In comparison, Sky sells its 500Mbps packages for £31 a month and £40 a month for its 900Mbps - making it much cheaper.

It's also cheaper than EE, Vodafone andPlusnet, meaning for those households that can get Virgin Media, it's well worth jumping on if Brits need fast and reliable broadband speeds. And that's not all.

Virgin Media is also throwing in Netflix for free, and its Wi-Fi Guarantee - included in the Gig1 package - means Virgin will ensure that households will get strong and fast broadband in every room or your money back. The inclusive Netflix has long been a popular perk to rival Sky, and it's now available to Virgin customers.

One thing to be aware of is that these packages are part of a 24-month broadband and prices will rise every year by £4.

For those who only need broadband, Hyperoptic might be a great alternative to consider. Shoppers can get broadband for as little as £26 a month on a 24-month contract. It even lets shoppers customise the length of the contract depending on their circumstances.

As we mentioned, Sky has some of its lowest prices ever on its slower broadband speeds - perfect for households that don't need the fastest speeds, with prices starting from £25 a month.

USwitchreviewed Virgin Media's broadband offerings and gave it a solid review. It said: "Virgin Media is a very good option for any household that uses the internet a lot.

"However, if you live in a smaller household and you only really use the internet to scroll on social media or stream the odd show, Virgin's offerings are maybe more than you need. You could pay a lot less for a much simpler package that delivers everything you need from your broadband deal.

"Plus, a broadband connection on the Openreach network might be a bit more reliable and consistent than Virgin Media's network. So you might have a smoother experience with providers that use Openreach, such as BT, Sky, Plusnet, TalkTalk or NOW Broadband."
