Cody didn't tap out but he passed out, which resulted in the referee stopping the match. After ducking brock lesnar, Cody walked out of the ring and ran from back. Cody failed to make the most out of it and got dropped on his broken arm twice. Despite being a heel, the crowd was cheering for Brock and chanted suplex city.

Cody used his injured arm as a weapon and hit Lesnar with it a few times. Cody tried the first pin attempt, which was broken. Cody then connected Brock with a disaster kick and a Cody cutter. Cody then hit Lesnar with two Cross Rhodes. As The American Nightmare went for a third one, Lesnar made a comeback and locked his opponent in a kimaru lock.

Cody didn't tap out. He managed to come out of the lock by grabbing the rope. Under the WWE rules, a superstar has to leave the submission move if his opponent touches the rope.

Cody hit Brock with third Cross Rhodes after getting up, but the former Intercontinental then got hit by an F5. Once again, Lesnar locked COdy's broken arm and this time, he faded. Lesnar won the match by referee stoppage.
