This trend has necessitated a surge in replacement hiring, with companies like Royal Orchid Hotels witnessing significant turnover and aiming to fill thousands of positions across various levels.

Royal Orchid Hotels, for instance, is set to introduce three new brands, expanding its footprint with a focus on western India. Similarly, Fortune Hotels and Lemon Tree are aggressively adding rooms and ramping up hiring efforts to meet growing demand.
Projected Industry GrowthWith projections indicating a rise in domestic and foreign tourist numbers, the hotel industry is poised for substantial growth. Fortune Hotels anticipates an 8-10 per cent increase in hiring, fueled by ambitious expansion plans, while Lemon Tree aims to hire thousands across different roles to support its fiscal year targets.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the hospitality sector has shown resilience and is on a path to recovery. Increased consumer confidence and lifted travel restrictions have spurred a surge in demand for hotel services, necessitating higher staffing levels to maintain service standards.
In-Demand Roles and SpecializationsFront desk agents, concierge, guest relations managers, and housekeeping staff are among the top roles in demand. Additionally, specialized positions such as maintenance technicians and chefs are experiencing heightened demand, reflecting the industry's evolving needs and service requirements.
Rising Demand for TalentManpower agencies report a substantial increase in demand for professionals across various functions within the hospitality sector. Sales, marketing, digital marketing, technical roles, and human resources are particularly sought after, indicating a broad-based recovery in the industry.
According to ICRA, the hotel industry is expected to witness steady revenue growth of 7-9 per cent in fiscal 2025, underscoring the sector's resilience and recovery trajectory.
Not limited to traditional hotel operators, online travel platforms are also witnessing a surge in hiring. Cleartrip, for instance, is actively seeking talent across technology, product development, and business development functions to support its growth trajectory, as per an ET report.
