Who Was Erin Jones? University Of Arizona Student Dies In Tucson Midtown House Party Shooting

A University of Arizona student Erin Jones was killed during a midtown house party shooting early on Sunday. The sophomore could not survive and died due to severe gunshot trauma. Apart from the UA student, three other people were also critically injured in the gunfire that happened on 3200 block of E. 5th Street.

The Tuckson Police Department officials rushed to the home where the party was taking place. They received reports of a shooting at 1:40 am, per local time. Meanwhile, an email was sent to the entire community at UArizona by its President Robert Robbins. The University of Arizona President mourned the demise of the 20-year-old and shared his condolences to the Jones family.


"Our deepest sympathies go out to Erin's family in California and across the country, her friends, and her classmates in Tucson and Newport Beach, who are absorbing the heartbreaking news today," wrote President Robbins in the email to students and staff of UArizona.

Who Was Erin Jones?
Erin Jones was doing her bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona. The 20-year-old was a student of Business Administration and Management, as per her LinkedIn profile. Originally from California, Erin was the fourth and only victim who lost her life due to gunshot wounds.

President Robbins spoke to Erin's family after the incident and offered the University's full support. "We will continue to be there for them. At the appropriate time, we will share information with the community regarding plans to honor her life and memory," he remarked.

An investigation into the deadly shooting incident involving UArizona students was launched by the Tucson Police Department. The incident occurred at an off-campus gathering attended by University students.

The victims were transported to nearby medical facilities by the Police Officers along with the Tucson Fire Department. Erin was taken to Banner University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
