Prayagraj: A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by three men in the Kokhraj area under the limits of Kokhraj police station in Kaushambi district. Police reported that a man from Mahmadpur arrived at Kokhraj police station on April 24 and informed officers that his 16-year-old daughter went missing under mysterious circumstances. Consequently, a missing complaint was lodged with the concerned police station. However, the girl returned home the next day (April 25). It was found that the girl left the house after being annoyed with family members and went to stay with one of the relatives.
Following this, the cops recorded the minor girl and her family members' video statements and enrolled them in their official records. However, the family members, on April 27, again approached Kokhraj police and submitted an application with the allegations that three men, including Shalendra Saroj alias Zahid, Sheru alias Nasar and one other had gang-raped their daughter and threatened her of dire consequences.
Acting on their complaint, an FIR under section 137 (2), 70 (2), 352, and 351 (3) of BNS, section 3 and 4 of POCSO act and SC\AT act was registered with Kokhraj police station. Deputy SP (Sirathu) was entrusted to probe the case. Additional SP (Kaushambi) Rajesh Kumar told reporters that after registering the FIR under appropriate sections, the police are investigating the case thoroughly . He added two teams have also been constituted to ensure the arrest of the miscreants.
