On March 6, at about 8am, Inspector Kosikalan informed the off-duty constable, Rekha, posted at Kosikalan, that a pregnant woman travelling on train number 11842 was groaning in pain. Despite not being on duty, Rekha rushed to platform number 5. While coming to attend the distress call, she brought clothes and other necessary items from her residence. She immediately reached the pregnant woman and saw that the woman was on the verge of delivering the baby. She surrounded the entire space with a makeshift veil, and as no doctor or nurse was present on the spot, she sent the RPF staff to get a blade, cotton, bandages, etc, so that further process of delivery could be done. Meanwhile, a local midwife was called by the RPF staff.

For this commendable work, Rekha was felicitated by IG/RPF Prayagraj.
