In his message, Netanyahu mourned the passing of Ratan Naval Tata, whom he described as "a proud son of India and a champion of the friendship between our two countries."

On October 9, Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus of the Tata Group, passed away at the age of 86 after a prolonged illness. He had been undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital due to age-related health complications.
In response to Tata's passing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute, describing him as a "visionary business leader" and an "extraordinary human being." Modi praised Tata for his humility and his contributions to society, both inside and outside the boardroom.
Tata’s death prompted tributes from leaders across the globe. German Ambassador to India Philipp Ackermann referred to Tata as a "wonderful person" and a "fantastic entrepreneur," while US Ambassador Eric Garcetti noted Tata’s expansive vision and his contributions to both India and the world. French President Emmanuel Macron praised Tata's "humanist vision" and his lifelong commitment to bettering society.
Tata's funeral was held in Mumbai with state honours, reflecting the deep respect and admiration he garnered throughout his life.
Born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, Ratan Tata was renowned for both his business leadership and philanthropic efforts. As Chairman of Tata Sons, he played a pivotal role in expanding the global reach of the Tata Group, overseeing major acquisitions such as Jaguar Land Rover and Tetley. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to industry and society, Tata was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honor, in 2008.
