MHT-CET re-exam 2025: The State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) has announced that a re-examination will be held for candidates who appeared for the MHT-CET exam in the Sunday morning slot. This decision comes after 21 significant errors were discovered in the mathematics section of the question paper, specifically in the English-medium version.
The flawed question paper was attempted by 24,744 students and was one of 16 separate test sessions conducted for MHT-CET this year. The errors were limited to the PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) group and were only found in the mathematics section, which is particularly consequential as math questions carry double the weightage—2 marks each—compared to physics and chemistry.
MHT-CET is the entrance exam used for admission to engineering, pharmacy, and agricultural programs in colleges across Maharashtra. This year, around 7.64 lakh students had registered for the examination.
The CET Cell has stated that new exam dates will be announced shortly. In addition, it has confirmed that disciplinary action will be taken against the educators responsible for setting the erroneous paper.
