The Los Angeles Lakers have been eliminated from the Western Conference semi-finals after being beaten by the Minnesota Timberwolves , 103–96, in Game 5. After the match, a dejected LeBron James was seen walking toward the locker room—only to be met by his wife, Savannah James , who was waiting in the corridor to offer him a kiss, showing her support and sympathy.

A video surfaced online showing Savannah James waiting for LeBron to return from the court. As he arrived, the couple exchanged a quiet kiss before James walked on without saying a word. Commenting on the video, a fan wrote, “It actually hurts me to see LeBron going out like this.”

The team’s loss came despite the headline-making Luka Doncic trade and the presence of other big names. LeBron James scored 22 points for the Lakers, but it wasn't enough to secure a win. Dončić contributed 28 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds, though he suffered a setback in the second quarter after injuring his back following a hard foul by Donte DiVincenzo.

On the other side, it was Rudy Gobert who powered the Timberwolves to victory, delivering a dominant performance with 27 points and 24 rebounds—his personal career high.

Los Angeles Lakers coach on team’s performanceSpeaking about the loss that ended the Lakers’ season earlier than many had hoped, coach JJ Redick said, as per Reuters, “We obviously put ourselves in a position to be in the game three times in the fourth quarter and just came up short every time. The offensive part of it—tonight in particular—we missed wide-open threes, we missed a couple of shots at the rim in the fourth quarter. We got good looks.”

On the James-Doncic partnership, he added, “We played 13 games with our playoff rotation in the regular season. LeBron and Luka obviously played a lot more than that together. These things take time. Luka just went through it in Dallas with Kyrie (Irving). It obviously doesn't happen overnight. We wish we could have figured that part out better and been in a more comfortable place in the fourth quarter of playoff games. But that partnership and relationship was more than solid.”
