NEW DELHI: Indian Army along with Jammu and Kashmir Police busted a terrorist hideout in Jammu and Kashmir's Kalakote region of Rajouri district. The search operation began late Wednesday night in response to reports of suspicious activity, according to PTI.
The officials said that the operation led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, several rounds of ammunition and magazines.
The operation was carried out by the Rashtriya Rifles Unit of the Indian Army, in collaboration with local law enforcement and CRPF at Gulabgarh.
Security sources had reported earlier this week that over 60 foreign terrorists, skilled in jungle warfare, are operating in small groups across the Jammu region. These groups are equipped with advanced technology such as iridium satellite phones and thermal imaging, and are armed with sophisticated weapons including the American M4 carbine.
