India exempts minority migrants from penal action under new law

Migrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, belonging to six minority communities, who entered India before December 31, 2024, will not face penal action under the new Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025. US President Donald Trump has once again targeted India, calling it the “most tariffed nation” in the world. Speaking on a radio show, he claimed that India had now offered him a “no tariff” deal. He said, “I understood tariffs better than any human beings in the world. India was the most highly tariffed nation in the world.” Read full story

Social media affair ends in murder in Uttar Pradesh

A 25-year-old truck driver in Mainpuri was arrested for allegedly strangling his 52-year-old lover after discovering her true age. Police said the woman, Rani Devi, had hidden her age online by using filters when the relationship began. The affair continued for over a year, during which the accused also took Rs 1.5 lakh from her. Read full story
