NEW DELHI: Qatar Amir , Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani on Tuesday extended his condolences and solidarity with people of India during a phone call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This call came amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan after Pahalgam terror attack.
According to MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, the Amir condemned the cross-border terror attack that claimed 26 lives, most of them tourists, and expressed full support for India’s fight against terrorism . He also backed India's efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
In response, PM Modi thanked the Qatari leader for his message of support and solidarity, in the wake of Pakistan-backed terror strike in Kashmir on April 22.
Both leaders reiterated their commitment to strengthening the India-Qatar strategic partnership and agreed to continue implementing the decisions made during the Amir's state visit to India earlier this year.
