NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday shared a video of him visiting a famous sweet shop in Delhi, where he was seen trying his hand at making 'imarti' (a crispy, orange Indian delicacy) and 'besan laddoo'.

Ghantewala sweet shop's owner, in conversation with the Congress leader, remembered how his family members had served the Gandhi family on several occasions, from Rajiv Gandhi's birthday celebration to Priyanka Gandhi's wedding.

In the video, Rahul Gandhi can be seen learning how to make imarti and laddoo from the shop owner and having a conversation about where it originated.

Taking to X, Gandhi wrote, "Tried my hand at making imarti and besan laddoos at the famous and historic Ghantewala sweet shop in Old Delhi. The sweetness of this centuries-old iconic shop remains the same - pure, traditional, and heartwarming."

Rahul Gandhi shared the video on the occasion of Diwali. "The true sweetness of Diwali lies not just in the plate, but also in relationships and community," he added in the post.

Earlier today, he extended heartfelt Diwali greetings to citizens, wishing for happiness, prosperity, and love.

In a post shared on X, he wrote, "Heartfelt Diwali greetings to all fellow citizens. May India be illuminated by the lamps of happiness, and may every courtyard be filled with the light of joy, prosperity, and love."
