NEW DELHI: US chief negotiator for the proposed trade pact with India Brendan Lynch was expected to land in Delhi early Tuesday for talks with his Indian counterpart Rajesh Agarwal. While formal negotiations are yet to resume, the visit by the assistant US Trade Representative signals the two sides may try to narrow some of the gaps after US President Donald Trump imposed 50% tariffs on India last month.
A team led by Lynch was to visit India last month, but the trip was postponed days before Trump's secondary sanctions kicked in.
